Dawson Community Club Nov. 3 meeting minutes
The Nov. 3 Dawson Community Club meeting opened at 6:30 p.m. Those present were Charles Abbott, Pat Curry, Bob Day, Ruby Beaver, Pat Petitt, Lynda Files,
Oscar Files, Louie Ashton and Josh Nibbe.
Pat Curry told the club she had already received and typed in 80 recipes but needed more; 200 recipes would be nice, but 150 will be fine. Louie turned in some
recipes for the cookbook, from Peggy.
The club approved a cover with a patriotic motif, with matching divider pages. It was decided, by vote, that the club would order 1000 cookbooks. Pre-orders could be
taken at the Secret Santa Shop and the cookbooks could be sold at other events throughout the year.
The Secret Santa Shop will take place Dec. 10 from 1-6 p.m. The club will also have a Christmas Cookie shop where homemade Christmas cookies will be sold. Pat
Curry offered to make an edible Christmas Cookie Box filled with little Christmas Cookies, to be raffled off during the Secret Santa Shop. Girl Scout Troop #6064 will once
again provide cookies and hot chocolate to guests.
Flyers have been posted requesting new items for the shop. Please bring what items you wish to donate to the Village Office. The children are always so excited to be
shopping for parents and friends secretly.
Santa has promised to be there to visit with the children and have his picture taken with them. Charles Abbott will take the photos.
Bob Day will have hot dogs available to buy and Josh Nibbe will have freshly popped popcorn for sale.
Pat Curry said she would prepare another notice for South County Publications to print. It was noted that it is only five weeks until the Secret Santa Shop.
The next meeting will be held on Nov. 17 and the last meeting before the Secret Santa Shop will be held on December 1.
With no further business to discuss, the meeting was closed.
