Dawson January Village Board minutes
   The regularly scheduled January meeting of the Dawson Village Board was called to order by
Mayor Bob Day. Trustees present were: Joan Davis, Nancy Prytherch, Clarence Worley, Violet
Blose and John Reilly. Jami Sponsler was absent.
   Joan Davis made a motion to accept the minutes as written, with a second by Violet Blose.

   Violet Blose made a motion to accept the bills as written, with a second by Joan Davis. MC
   Clarence Worley made a motion to accept the treasurer’s report, with a second by John Reilly.

   Joan Davis revealed the names of the winners in the 2009 Christmas Lighting Contest. They
are as follows: No. 1 Rick Rees $50; No. 2 Craig and Rebecca Call $30; and No. 3 Oscar Files
$20.
   Attorney Steve Scott presented the revised ordinance 2009-VOD-001; 3-2-14, reflecting fines to
be imposed on impounded dogs.
   Nancy Prytherch raised a question about the ordinance, saying she did not agree with the
wording regarding barking dogs.
   Attorney Scott explained the wording she objected to was part of the original ordinance and
had not been part of the revision.
   Nancy Prytherch stated that she still objected to it, and felt it was not right.
   Joan Davis made the motion to accept revised ordinance 2009-VOD0001; 3-2-14, with a
second by Clarence Worley. Roll call: Violet Blose: Yes; John Reilly: No; Joan Davis: Yes; Nancy
Prytherch: No; Clarence Worley: Yes; Mayor Bob Day: Yes. MC
   Water Superintendent Charles Abbott told the board he and Mayor Day had met with Gary
Kuntzman, senior project manager with Greene & Bradford. They discussed the stimulus
package and presented the village “wish list.”
   For projects to be considered, they must be started within 120 days.
   Mayor Bob Day told the board that the final census count taken by Nancy Prytherch, due to the
annexation of Country Meadows trailer park, was 42 persons. A letter from IDOT confirmed the
new population number is 508, which will be considered in the motor fuel tax funds
disbursement to the village, retroactive to December 2008.
   He also told the board the village received a letter from Sangamon County regarding vouchers
for the town cleanup in May 2009.
   An appropriation in the amount of $40,400, for the 2008 Motor Fuel Tax program, was
presented for approval. Clarence Worley made a motion to approve the appropriation, with a
second by Nancy Prytherch. MC
   Mayor Day showed the board a thank you card received from Donna Taft’s family.
   Violet Blose made a motion for adjournment, with a second by John Reilly. MC
