Tri-City Education Foundation Grant
recipients announced
   The Tri-City Education Foundation has announced the recipients of its most recent grants;
they are listed below.
Brian Moore $1500
   This grant will provide matching funds required for a competitive grant application to construct
a greenhouse to be used for practical educational experiences in the agriculture program.  
Funding is contingent upon receipt of the grant.
Kim Kramer $265.54
   This grant will provide funding to purchase vocabulary-based materials for use during the
Language in the Classroom sessions for grades 1-6.
Karen Park  $447.17
   The Interactive Learning Project will allow for the purchase of an Audio Learning System and
six CD Card Sets.
Carolyn Ward, Trudy Jones, Stan Price, Clem Uptmor $1809.60
   The Bringing Math to Life with Technology Project will allow for the integration of technology
into all levels of math with the purchase of a school license for Geometer's Sketchpad software.
Diane Dankowski $599.99
   Funds from this grant will be used to purchase a video projector for K-12 art students.  The
projector will allow entire classrooms of students to routinely visualize art concepts utilizing the
Internet and other appropriate software.
Melissa Pfeiffer, Tony Wilson $670
   This Fitness and Fun Grant will promote physical fitness activities and evaluation processes
to encourage lifetime fun and knowledge.
Kathy Booker, Lori Gremer $1008.70
   This grant will allow for the purchase of Where Does Our Food Come From Packages for four
elementary classrooms.  Students will study plants and harvest various crops.
Kathy Booker $959.40
   The On the Road Grant will allow students to design and build radio-controlled vehicles.  This
project will challenge students to imagine, inspire observation, use deductive reasoning, logical
thinking, principles of physics and problem solving.
Steve Dilley $330
   This grant will allow for the purchase of a complete set of Hands On Math Teaching Set for
grades 3-5. The materials include student manipulatives that will help engage students and
reinforce math concepts.
Wendy Dilley $208.50
   Funds for this grant will be used to purchase Literacy Centers that will provide students with
differentiated practice in essential literacy skills including phonics, word families and working
with words.
Anna Wooden $480.99
   This grant will provide funds to purchase an accessible swing for students with special
needs in the elementary program.
Alison Whitworth $171.35
   Grant funds will be used to purchase Grade 1 and 2 Reading and Writing Learning Centers
that will be used to reinforce the language arts curriculum and encourage students to utilize the
skills they learn in other ways.
Amanda Stribling $2500
   This grant will allow for the purchase of sound equipment for the old gym.  
Rachel Ventress $260
   Funding will provide for the purchase of a Pre-K Music Curriculum for the Pre-K students at
Tri-City.
Donna Price $750
   This grant will provide online user licenses for the Voyager Learning/Vmath  system.  This is
an online math resource that creates a stimulating learning environment for all students.
   There are still many unmet needs for the students of the Tri-City Schools.  Please consider
making a contribution so we may meet those needs.
   The Tri-City Education Foundation is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit corporation that accepts tax
deductible contributions.  
   Funds donated are used to supplement, enhance and enrich educational programs for the
students of the Tri-City Schools.  Funds may also be used to support innovative academic units
designed to increase student achievement.
