December Buffalo Village Board minutes
The regular meeting of the Village of Buffalo was called to order at 7 p.m. by Mayor Bill Vetter with
the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag. Members present were: Bill Vetter, Pam Paul, Bob Thaxton, Lori
Payne-Mullett, Tom Paige, Rose Magowan (acting treasurer), Phyllis Quick, village clerk, Brent
Beeman, attorney.
VISITORS: None
RECEPTION OF VISITORS:
READING OF MINUTES: Payne-Mullett made a motion to approve the minutes as mailed, seconded
by Paige. Motion passed.
TREASURER’S REPORT: Payne-Mullett made a motion to accept the treasurer’s report, seconded
by Paige. Motion passed.
COMMUNICATIONS: A letter from the Office of the State Fire Marshal with minimum fire safety
standards, this will be given to legal staff to see if the village needs to do anything.
A thank you was received from the Tri-City After Prom committee.
READING OF THE BILLS: Magowan read the bills for a total of $20,323.34. Paul made a motion to
approve the bills, seconded by Payne-Mullett. Roll call vote: Magowan-yea, Paul-yea, Thaxton-yea,
Payne-Mullett-yea, Paige-yea. Motion passed.
COMMITTEE REPORTS
FINANCE COMMITTEE: No report.
PUBLIC HEALTH & SAFETY: No report.
STREETS & ALLEYS: Magowan made a motion that the use of the two trucks owned by the Village of
Buffalo should be used for Buffalo business only unless special permission is granted by the Mayor
and Streets & Alleys Chairman. Motion seconded by Payne-Mullett. Roll call vote: Magowan-yea,
Paul-yea, Thaxton-yea, Payne-Mullett-yea, Paige-yea. Motion passed.
PARK & BOULEVARD: Culverts are to be cleaned out. Flags have been set out according to the
utility companies so the work can be done.
SIDEWALKS: The grant for sidewalk on West Street near the school has been denied. The village
will try for a grant next year.
POLICE: No report.
RECYCLING: Paul reported the recycling grant for resurfacing the parking lot has been submitted.
TREES: No report.
Paige made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Payne-Mullett. Motion passed. Meeting adjourned
at 8:10 p.m.
