WJH eighth graders win Athens Tournament
       The Williamsville eighth grade girls basketball team defeated St. Agnes 24-10 Saturday to win the Athens Tournament.
       Down 5-2 after one period, WJH rallied to lead 12-8 at the half and 14-10 heading into the final stanza.
       Marah Abu-Tayeh had 10 points, with Rachel Hewitt scoring six and Farah Abu-Tayeh, Lexi Clark, Abbey Galusha and Kaylee Burton all
having two.
       Friday, Farah Abu-Tayeh hit a game-winner at the buzzer as the Lady Bee Bees nipped host Havana 27-26.
       She led WJH with seven points overall, while Joy Miller had six. Clark, Galusha and Kaitlan Phillips all contributed four and Marah Abu-
Tayeh a deuce.
       Last Tuesday, the eighth graders lost to Rochester 31-17. Marah Abu-Tayeh had seven, Brenna Cordum four and Burton and Clark three
each.
       On Thursday, WJH scored only six points in the final three periods in a 28-19 loss to visiting Athens.
       Williamsville led 13-9 after one period and 16-13 at intermission. The home team did not score in the final stanza. Miller tossed in five, with
Galusha chipping in four, Marah Abu-Tayeh and Burton three each and Phillips and Clark a pair.

       The seventh graders fell short vs. Rochester 40-16. Leah Musselman and Megan Hull both had four tallies, with Christina Mealwitz, Kaitlyn
Termine, Maggie Sorenson and Alexis Combs all having a pair.
       Two nights later, WJH lost to Athens 42-18. Rhiannon Peterson scored five, with Leah Musselman scoring four. Sorenson, Haley
Mierzejewski, Chloe Howard and Caroline McCormick contributed two each and Tessa Musselman made a free throw.
       WJH lost to Havana despite five from Peterson and four from McCormick and Tessa Musselman, and on Saturday at the Athens
Tournament, the Lady Bee Bees lost to PORTA 21-13 in the third place game. Hull had four and Sorenson three.
