Williamsville school registration information
The Sherman Elementary homepage has now been updated with the 2008-09 school year information.  Go to
www.wcusd15.org then click on the SES link.  On the left sidebar, click on the parents link.  You will find the
following information:  the 2008-09 parent letter and student handbook, lunch prices for the year broken down by
month, milk prices for the year broken down by month, supply lists and authorization form.  The above information
will also be available (along with pre-printed registration forms) at registration on Wednesday, August 6, from 9 a.
m.-8 p.m.  Students new to the district should go to the office to register.  Returning students should go to the gym
to register.
Your child will find out at registration who his/her teacher will be for the 2008-09 school year.  The cost for book
rental is $150 per student.  There will be additional costs ($1 to $6) at specific grade levels to pay for other
supplies that are only available at the school.  We also ask that you pay the milk break fee of $52 per student at
registration.
New students and kindergarteners will need to bring the following:  proof of residency, copy of county issued
birth certificate, current physical, vision exam and dental exam.  Second graders also need the dental exam.  The
building will not be open for tours the day of registration; therefore, it is not necessary to bring students to
registration.
Students will have the opportunity to meet their teachers and tour the building on Monday, Aug. 18, at Meet the
Teacher Night.  If you are not able to register your child(ren) on Aug. 6, you may register any day after Aug. 6, from 8
a.m.-3 p.m., Monday through Friday.
New students in grades 6-12 can begin registering at the junior high and high school on Aug. 5.  Offices are
open from 9 a.m.–3 p.m.
Lunch Expenses:  Be sure to apply for Free or Reduced Lunches.
Did you know that the Williamsville School District is now part of the State and National School Lunch Program?
What this means to you is that the high quality of lunch does not change, but the families within the school district
who qualify for free or reduced lunch will receive the financial benefit of saving money on their children’s (Type A)
lunches.  In addition, the school district will be able to receive reimbursements for every free and reduced lunch, as
well as any paid lunch.
This is important information to know because this program will be able to save the school district money while
benefiting families in our community who qualify for free and reduced lunches.
Currently, we offer free lunches to those who financially qualify, but we now are able to offer reduced prices for
others who didn’t previously qualify for free lunches.  All you have to do is apply.
We are on a simple campaign to notify parents of students who might qualify for these benefits and encourage
them to submit an application.  Forms are available in the district office and at each of the school’s main offices.  In
addition, to make the application process as easy as possible, we have made the forms available on our district
Web site.
Please visit our Web site at www.wcusd15.org and download an application to see if you qualify.  Once
approved, your child’s account will reflect their status within our computer system, and this information is
confidential.
School Insurance Information
The school district will not be providing supplemental student accident insurance this year.  If your child is
participating in a sport, you will be required to sign an insurance waiver, indicating proof of insurance.  The
coaches and school offices will provide insurance waivers for your use.
