Bullets end regular season with 48-0 win over
Redskins
The Williamsville Bullets football team concluded its regular season Friday night with a 48-0 thumping
of visiting Nokomis.
The Bullets led 22-0 after one period despite a consistent, pretty hard rain, then expanded the lead to
29-0 by halftime.
Josh Gentile opened the scoring with a 36-yard run just 1:17 into the game, and Nick Roscetti booted
the PAT.
Gentile then scored from the 15 at the 7:29 mark, and after a low snap, Roscetti picked up the ball on
the conversion try and found Troy Willis in the end zone.
WHS made it 22-0 after another 36-yard Gentile TD scamper and Roscetti PAT boot, at the 1:01 mark.
Gentile found Chase Alexander on a 40-yard TD pass with 2:39 left in the half, and Roscetti nailed the
PAT kick.
Alexander opened the second half with an 82-yard kickoff return, though the PAT failed.
The running clock was put into motion with Willis’ 50-yard TD scamper at the 9:48 mark.
Jared Buscher completed the scoring with a 58-yard TD run late in the fourth period.
WHS held Nokomis to only nine first downs and 144 yards of offense.
Gentile finished with 120 yards rushing on only seven carries (giving him 1013 on the year), and
Buscher added 61 and Willis 55; the Bullets racked up 271 yards on the ground and averaged 13.55 yards
per rush.
Gentile threw only six passes and completed four, for 90 yards (he finished the regular season with
1295 passing yards).
Alexander, Willis, Roscetti and Travis Combs all caught one pass.
Austin Stake led with 11 tackles, while Alex Smith, Keith Williams and Combs (sack) all had nine and
Colton Meyers and Brock Kamrath both had eight.
Willis, Zach Martin and Austin Kent all tallied seven and Nick Kamrath and Jesse Schmillen contributed
six each.
“I was really happy with the way we came out tonight, especially considering the conditions,” said coach
Aaron Kunz. “We wanted to send our seniors out with a win and also stay healthy going into the playoffs,
and we did that.”
