RHPS membership drive now underway
The Rochester Historical Preservation Society has launched its 2012 membership campaign.
"We invite anyone who would like to join us in building a community of friends and history enthusiasts interested in procuring,
preserving and presenting the remarkable history of Rochester," RHPS President Larry Watkins said.
The society has been in the forefront of collecting and preserving local history with documents, photos, books, buildings and
furnishings, and producing oral histories. It owns two historical buildings, the reconstructed 1830s era Samuel Stevens stone
house and the Capoot/Barr log home, the reconstruction of which is planned soon.

are:

       - Settler/Individual $15
       -Homesteader/Family $25
       -Blacksmith $50

Also, memorial gifts may be made in honor or memory of someone.
Funds raised through membership and other projects go toward maintenance of the Old Stone House and three-acre historic
park grounds, and rebuilding the log house.
