Hawk wrestlers rout Eisenhower
Visiting Deer Creek-Mackinaw won the last two matches and snuck past host Riverton/Williamsville 39-36 in a high school dual wrestling meet last Thursday.
The Hawks gave up three forfeit losses and there was one double forfeit.
Williamsville's Tate Manka won by forfeit at 160 to make the score 9-6 Dee-Mack (the evening started at 145).
Kyle Bartlett of Riverton rallied in his match, but ended up losing a tough 13-11 decision at 152.
Riley Perrine (170) was trailing 6-2 in his match, but the Bullet student rallied for a pin in 3:11.
Riverton's Austin Good earned a forfeit win at 195, then fellow Hawk Andy Ankrom dominated his match at 220, being up 17-8 before winning by pin with three seconds left
in the second period. Six of the points he gave up came on escapes, most after an Ankrom two-point takedown.
Williamsville's Alec Daykin (285) also won by forfeit.
The Bullets' Tommy Weiss needed just 79 seconds to win by pinfall at 120.
But the Chiefs won the last two matches by pinfall, both in the first period, to rally.
Riverton won two matches vs. Taylorville, Perrine at 170 by pin and Daykin by an 8-4 decision at 285.
Hollis and Good earned forfeit wins over Auburn, while Riverton's Corey Korinek lost a 4-2 decision at 285.

Tuesday, the Hawks lost a close match to Warrensburg-Latham 42-35.
Riverton's Jakob Ewing (132), the Bullets' Nino Giganti (138), Manka and the Hawks' Sean Goff (220) won by forfeit, while WHS' Ryan Scheffler (145) won by technical fall,
20-4. Williamsville's A.J. Hollis won by pin at 182.
The Hawks also romped past Decatur Eisenhower 59-12.
Weiss, Giganti, Scheffler and Goff all won by forfeit, while Bartlett, Manka, Perrine, Hollis, Jacob Weiss and Korinek all won by pin.
