Todd wins Riverton mayoral race
Bob Todd will be the new Riverton mayor.
With all the precincts counted, Todd finished with 312 votes, ahead of Jeb Brown’s 277 and Tom Rader’s 264.
Todd admitted he was surprised at the closeness of the race, and he is a “little nervous,” but “just like anything else, this will be a challenge, and I have been able to overcome
challenges” in the past.
“We will have to work together, and I do not foresee any problem,” he said.
Connie Blissett, running unopposed, will remain village clerk.
Incumbents Rich Pottier (424) and Patrick Faires (322) will remain on the village board; newcomer Tina Raycraft, who had aligned herself with Pottier and Faires, was the third
person elected, with 344 votes.
Ralph Willoughby (307) finished fourth, with James Cleaver (285), Chris Wieland (278) and Gary Holladay (153) lagging behind.
On the school board, incumbent Scott McClure (693) will return, and he will be joined by Pam Cuffle (683), Larry Patterson (679) and Kim Frick Baskett (605).
Coming up short were Brad Garcia (466), Ann Holladay (389) and Dirk McCormick (333).
In Spaulding, Brian Cuffle and Jeffrey Hubbs were elected as village trustee, though there is still one slot open. No one filed for the one open seat as well.
The Village of Spaulding proposition was voted down 74-40.
The question on the ballot asked if the “limiting rate under the property tax extension limitation law...be increased by an additional amount equal to .1091 percent above the
limiting rate for levy year 2007 and be equal to .1790 percent of the equalized assessed value of the taxable property therein for levy year 2009.”
Paul Thomas (20), Gene Bloodworth (17) and Keith Hopper (16) were all elected as village trustees in the Village of Clearlake.
In Clearlake Township, Dennis Wieland (supervisor), Jim Moore (clerk), David Carver (assessor), Todd (collector) and Alex Lyons (highway commissioner) were all
unopposed. Jim Bradford, Donna Lee Stork, Robert Vanderwal and Lori Williams were elected for four trustee slots.
Jeanne Thorpe was elected as a village library trustee, though one spot remains open.
Lyons (829) and Deborah Moore (672) were elected as Fire Protection District trustees, while Mark Becker (496) came up short.
Mail absentee ballots and provisional ballots will not be included in these totals until April 21.
The above results reflect early voting, grace period and in-person absentee ballots cast prior to election day.
