Lamkey breaks own school record
Riverton’s Caitlyn Lamkey broke her own school record last Tuesday by clearing 5 feet, 3 inches in the high jump.
Lamkey actually finished second by just one inch to a Petersburg jumper.
The Hawks hosted Rochester and Petersburg Porta in a meet originally scheduled for Rochester.
The eighth grade girls finished second behind Porta, garnering 36 1/2 points.
Jordi Bumpus won the 100 hurdles, with Lamkey second.
Bumpus took second and Emily Thomas was tied for fourth in the 100, while Molli Shane was third in the 400.
Falyn Bruce placed fourth in the 800. Bruce was third and Rachel Little fourth in the 1600.
Bruce was also third in the discus and second in the shot put.
The Lady Hawks were second in the 400 relay and second in the 1600 relay.
The seventh grade girls finished with 21 1/2 points and were third.
In the 100, Raegan Wilshusen finished first, and Carlie Cuffle finished in a tie for fourth.
Erika Shriver finished second in the 400.
The Lady Hawks won the 800 relay and the 1600 relay.
Cuffle finished fourth in the long jump, and Samantha O’Connor was third in the discus.
On the boys side, the seventh graders were second with 36 points and the eighth graders tallied 32 points and were third.
For the eighth graders, Seth Best placed second in the hurdles, and Rich Rexroat finished fourth in the 100.
Austin McCullough was fourth in the 200, and Zach Yoggerst took second in the 400.
Brad Virgin finished second in the 800, and he won the 1600.
The 1600 relay was first.
Best won the high jump, and Trace Lamkey placed fourth in the discus.
In the long jump, Best finished third and Rexroat fourth.
Josh Nelson was third in the pole vault.
On the seventh grade side, Ryan Fisher was third in the 100 and second in the 200, and Matt Nordyke took second and Chase Dickerson third in the 400.
In the 1600, Kevin Bertolino finished third.
The 1600 relay took first.
Evan McClintock finished second in the high jump, and Sean Goff placed third in the discus. Goff also was fourth in the shot put.
In the long jump, the Hawks swept the top three spots, with Tyler Borski, Mitchell Patterson and McClintock doing the honors.
