Baseball Indians extend winning streak to 12
  The Pawnee Indians blitzed Northwestern 19-3 Saturday to extend their winning streak to 12 games. The Indians, who are 12-2
overall, are now 6-0 in MSM Conference play and 2-0 in the Prairie State Conference.
  Garrett Mohn had two hits including his first home run of the season and drove in four runs for the Indians, who outhit the
Wildcats 13-4. Tre Angeli (three RBI) and Dalton Doerfler also belted home runs in the romp.
  Getting two hits each were Jon Schrage (three RBI), Alan Mundhenke (two RBI) and Chris Day (two RBI), and Jordan Day,
Michael Shepherd and Andrew West all had one hit.
  Seth Nelson went to 3-0 with three innings of work, striking out two, walking three and allowing four hits and two earned runs.
The Wildcats scored three runs in the 2nd inning.
  Pawnee jumped out to a 5-0 lead after one inning and tacked on nine more in the 2nd and four in the 4th on way to the
five-inning victory.
PHS 11, TAYLORVILLE 1
  Chris Day pitched a two-hitter for his first win and also helped his own cause with three hits and three RBI in an 11-1 home win
over Taylorville last Friday. Day walked two and allowed only an unearned run to the visitors.
  Pawnee scored seven runs in the 3rd to grab an 8-0 lead and finished off the five-inning win with three runs in the 5th.
  Mundhenke had two hits and two RBI, J. Day (one RBI) and West had one hit apiece and Doerfler and Donnie Rhoades had
RBI. The Indians were abetted by four Taylorville errors.
PHS 15, MORRISONVILLE 1
  Pawnee swept a twinbill from Morrisonville, opening with a big 15-1 triumph behind J. Day, who fanned seven and allowed only
one hit and two walks.
  C. Day and Brock Bennett led the Indians with three hits and four RBI apiece. Shepherd also had three hits, followed by
Mundhenke, J. Day and Doerfler with two hits each and one each from Schrage and Rhoades.
PHS 4, MORRISONVILLE 3
  The Indians prevailed 4-3 as Mundhenke, Shepherd and Bennett had one hit and one RBI apiece. Angeli drove in what proved
to be the game-winner with a groundout. Pawnee also got doubles from Schrage and Doerfler and a single by Rhoades.
  Bennett (3-1) went 4 1/3 innings for the win, striking out three whle giving up three hits and two walks. He allowed three runs,
only one of which was earned. Rhoades pitched the final 2 2/3 innings for the save, not allowing a hit or walk while striking out
four.
PHS 13, RIVERTON 5
  The Indians scored four runs in the 2nd and extended a 4-3 lead with two runs in the 4th and 5th, one in the 6th and four more
in the 7th to defeat Riverton 13-5, outhitting the Hawks by a 15-7 margin.
  Rhoades and J. Day paced the PHS offense with three hits each while C. Day and Schrage both delivered home runs. Mohn
and Bennett had two hits each and Mundhenke and Doerfler chipped in one hit each.
  Mohn pitched six innings for the victory, scattering six hits and four runs, three earned. He struck out seven and walked two
batters.
PHS 14, TRI-CITY 4
  The Indians erupted for six runs in the 4th and scored three more in the 5th to defeat Tri-City 14-4 in five innings. Nelson was
the winning pitcher, allowing 11 hits and striking out two.
  Pawnee had 14 hits, three each by Schrage and Bennett while Nelson had two doubles and two RBI. Shepherd, C. Day and
West all had two RBI and one hit and J. Day, Mundhenke and Doerfler contributed one hit apiece.
PHS 12, NEW BERLIN 1
  Pawnee scored three runs in the first inning and led 4-1 after four frames before sending across eight tallies in the 5th to polish
off New Berlin in five innings, 12-1.
  Mundhenke delivered a home run and double and two RBI and C. Day had four RBI with two hits, including a double. Bennett
had two RBI and Doerfler, Schrage and Shepherd added one hit apiece.
  Mohn allowed three hits, three walks and one earned run over 4 1/3 innings for the mound win. He struck out six.
PHS 15, TRI-CITY 3
  In a game moved to Pawnee because the Tri-City field was too wet, the Indians outhit the Tornadoes, 11-3. Pawnee held a 6-3
lead after five innings before putting it away with four in the 6th and five in the 7th. Bennett went the distance for the win, allowing
three hits and one walk while fanning 11.
  Offensive leaders were C. Day with three hits and three RBI; Bennett with a home run and three RBI and Mohn with two hits.
PHS got one hit each from Mundhenke, J. Day, Schrage, Doerfler and Shepherd.
