Egolf nets three goals, Titans move to 3-0
The Glenwood High School girls soccer team improved to 3-0 on the young season after a 7-0 win
over Lanphier at Lee Field in Springfield Tuesday night.  The Titans (3-0, 2-0 CS8) also defeated
2007 Class A runner-up Waterloo Gibault 3-0 in action last Saturday.
Against Lanphier, junior Erin Egolf scored three goals, with Ali Traina, Kelly Short, Brittany
Coffinbargar and Cythina Koe adding one goal apiece.  Jenny Mosley had two assists for the Titans,
while Ashley Kulavic, Elena Pappas and Taylor Buske each had one assist.  Emily Rose and Caitlyn
Moody shared goaltending duties for Glenwood.  GHS led 5-0 at halftime.
Against Gibault, Moody had five saves in goal to register the shutout.  Sydney Alstott had a goal and
assist for Glenwood, while Coffinbargar and Mosley also scored goals.  Buske and Kaitlyn Gregg
added assists.
"It's been a difficult start to the season because of the weather, but the girls are dealing with it very
well," GHS head coach Jay Lipe stated.  "Saturday's win on the road against a quality program is an
excellent result.  Thursday will provide a strong test as we host Edwardsville."
The Titans are scheduled to host Edwardsville Thursday at 5 p.m., then travel to O'Fallon Saturday at
noon  Rescheduled games include: April 7 at Rochester (4:30), April 8 at Quincy Senior and the
Glenwood Freshman Tournament will now be held Saturday, April 12.  Glenwood will host Quincy
Notre Dame April 9 and Southeast April 10.
