Defoe claims hurdles at Metamora Invite
Glenwood junior Diana Defoe claimed the 100 meter hurdles title at Saturday's Metamora Invite,
finishing in 15.5 seconds.
Defoe also placed second in the high jump, helping lead the Titans to a fifth place finish out of 13
teams. Freshman Marissa Stafford took second in the 100 and 200 meter dashes, while teammate
Marchay Bell was fourth in both races. Freshman Kelly McMahon took third in the long jump.
Metamora took the team title with 137 points, followed by Normal Community, Eureka, Normal West
and Glenwood. The meet was held at Eureka High School. Complete GHS results are as follows:

"At this point in the season, we are still experimenting with the girls to see what makes our team
better as a whole and where they benefit most as individuals," GHS coach Ryan Staley commented.
"We're starting to get everybody back healthy and some of the question marks are being answered.
The Titan Invite next Friday is always a big meet to see exactly where we stack up with everybody in
the CS8."
Glenwood will travel to the Southeast Invite this Saturday morning.
