Copp wins election to school board;
Neuses survives challenge
Steve Copp of Glenarm was the winner in Tuesday’s election for three spots on the Ball-
Chatham Board of Education, while incumbent president Jim Neuses of Springfield survived a
stiff challenge from Ethan Manning of Chatham in winning election to a new four-year term.
Copp and Neuses will be joined by Rick Petermeyer of Springfield, who was assured of
election due to boundary restrictions. Copp, Neuses and Manning are all from Ball Township,
and no more than two members could be elected. Petermeyer is from Curran Township.
With voter turnout at just over 28 percent county-wide, Copp tallied 2,832 votes (31.12

members not up for election are Lisa Weitzel, John Kwedar, Alan Harling and Linda Carter.
