Glenwood Homecoming Week
set October 5-10
It's a European Soiree for Glenwood!  This year's Homecoming Week
kicks off Monday, Oct. 5. On Tuesday, Oct. 6, the community is invited to
help "Pack the Place" for the Glenwood volleyball team against SHG at 6
p.m.  Decals will be handed out to students sporting Glenwood attire.
On Wednesday, Oct. 7, the Homecoming Parade will start at 5:45 p.m.  
The parade route begins in the west parking lot at GHS and travels
through the neighborhood south of the school, ending back in the school
parking lot.  The cookout and bonfire for Glenwood High School students
will follow.
On Thursday, Oct. 8, the "Pack the Place" soccer game against Alton
begins at 5 p.m.  Decals will also be handed out to students sporting
Glenwood attire.
On Friday, Oct, 9, the football team will be taking on Taylorville.  The King
and Queen crowning will take place at 6:45 p.m., and kickoff is at 7. To
conclude Homecoming Week, the Homecoming Dance will be held from
8-11 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 10.
School budget balanced, new bargaining

The Ball-Chatham Board of Education formally approved a $37.1 million budget for its four
major operating funds for fiscal year 2010 at its regular meeting Monday night. (

Dystrophy Association presented a 2009 Fill
the Boot Award plaque to the Chatham Fire
Department last Saturday, in recognition of
the Department's efforts in raising $4,462 for
MDA recently.  Making the presentation to

Titans cruise to 4th straight win,

TWO TEAMS, TWO STATE CHAMPIONS! -
The Glenwood Middle School boys and girls
cross country teams each claimed IESA
Class AA state titles last Saturday in Normal.  
The GMS boys, sporting their retro Glenwood
“Braves” uniforms, defeated New Lenox
Martino by nine points, while the Glenwood
girls edged out Normal Parkside by a single
