Glenwood Summer Sports Camps
The Glenwood Summer Sports Camps are designed to give boys and girls of all levels, beginner to
advanced, the opportunity to develop their individual skills under the guidance and direction of the
Glenwood High School coaching staff. Sign-ups for each camp are encouraged before May 15, and
entries received after May 30 are subject to late fees. Contact the Glenwood High School Athletic Office

GLENWOOD HALL OF FAME CLASS OF 2008 - The
Glenwood Hall of Fame Class of 2008 induction
ceremonies were held April 27 at GHS. This year's class
consists of (front, l-r): Larry Lawrence (scorekeeper for
1986-87 girls basketball team), Dr. Grant Rivera, Ann
Rundall and Linda McGrew (daughters of the late Vernie
and Opal Lee), Monty Carbonell. Back, members of the

51 State Scholars
named at GHS
Fifty-one Glenwood High School
students have been recognized by the
Illinois Student Assistance Commission
as Illinois State Scholars.
These students rank in the top 10
percent of the state's 137,000 high
school graduating seniors. Selection
was based on ACT test scores and/or
the students' class rank at the end of
their junior year of high school. The list

seniors except Galloway, who is a junior.

Girls soccer team
claims Mt. Prospect
Tournament title
The Glenwood High girls soccer team defeated
three Chicago suburb teams en route to the Mt.
Prospect Tournament title last weekend. The
Titans (9-1-1) defeated Wauconda 1-0, Crystal
Lake South 1-0 and Cary-Grove 2-1 to claim the
title. Erin Egolf scored three of the Glenwood
goals, and assisted on the other. (more)
Boys crush Lincoln
to move to 13-1
The Glenwood High boys baseball team
improved to 13-1 overall on the season after
crushing Lincoln 16-4 in five innings on a
perfect spring day at Community Park Tuesday.
The Titans, now 5-1 in the Central State Eight
Conference, scored six runs in the first inning
against the Railers, knocking out starter Mick
Montcalm (1-4). (more)
Ranos edges Hagemann for school record
Technically, the school record in the 110 meter hurdles was broken twice at last week's home
triangular boys track meet at Glenwood High School. (more)
Pfeiffer, Waggener power Titans past J-ville
Trevor McGrath fired a two-hit shutout for six innings, and the Glenwood Titans erupted for seven
runs in the sixth inning of an 11-0 win over Jacksonville Tuesday night. (more)
Late rally falls short, softball girls fall to SHG
The SHG Blazers softball team remained undefeated on the season after defeating Glenwood for the
second time this season Tuesday night, taking a 6-3 decision at GHS. (more)
Girls soccer team improves to 12-1-1
The Glenwood High School girls soccer team won three more games this past week, moving to

The time has finally come for the Central State Eight Conference boys track meet, and the Glenwood
Titans are hopeful of giving favorite Lanphier a run for the overall title. (more)

At the ultra-competitive girls Central State Eight Conference track meet last Friday night at Glenwood
High School, the host Titans got several outstanding individual performances but in the end took fifth
in the overall standings. (more)

Trevor McGrath won his sixth game of the year on the mound and added a homer and four RBIs at
the plate as the Glenwood Titans blasted Taylorville 13-2 in five innings Tuesday night in Christian
