Streets to get summer work announced
The city council Monday approved an expenditure of $154,093 for summer street maintenance work.
Passed 6-0, the work will be put out for bids. Normally the work is scheduled for late July or early August always hopeful to be
done before the start of school.
All of the maintenance this year will be done in Auburn proper with nothing south of the cemetery other than a short stretch of
Chizmar Lane and Hogan Road east of Kennedy. The bulk of the work will be oil and chip, a seal coat.
Scheduled are the following streets: Pine Lane, from Redbud to Rte. 4; Commanche, from Cheyenne to Apache; from Pueblo
Lane to Jefferson; Redbud, from Jefferson to North;
Eleventh, from Jackson to an alley south of Monroe; Ninth, from VanBuren to North; Eighth, from Monroe to North; Seventh, from
Harrison to Jackson; Sixth, from Jackson to Adams and Washington to Maple; Fifth, from Harrison to VanBuren; Fourth, from
VanBuren to Madison and Interurban, a half block north;
Maple, from 9th to 11th; Senseney, from Rte. 4 to Seventh; Interurban, from Fifth east to Veteran's Park; Jefferson, from Cheyenne
to Seventh;
Wineman, from Springfield to Lily Lane; Washington, from Springfield to Harris; Adams, from Kennedy to First; Jefferson, from
First to Auburn; First, from Jackson to Jefferson; Auburn, from Jackson to North running into the railroad right-of-way; Springfield,
from Jefferson to Adams; Violet, from Madison to Wineman; Heather, from Madison to Wineman; Rose, from Washington to
Wineman; and Clover Lane, from Illinois 104 south halfway to DICKEY-john Rd.
